Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: Is my donation tax exempted?

Yes, YCF is a non-profit organization under sub-section 44(6) of Income Tax Act 1967. Therefore, all donations to YCF will be tax exempted. Do note that this is only applicable to donors or donor entities that file taxes with “Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN)”, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia.

Q2: Is there a minimum amount of donation required for me to be eligible for tax-exemption?

There is NO minimum amount of donation required. You are free to donate as much or as little an amount. However, as we have a certain level of administrative cost that needs to be maintained (postage, notification systems, etc.), we require at least RM50 should you wish to get the physical receipt to be mailed to your mailing address. Your understanding is much appreciated.

For aggregate donations of RM20,000 and above made in a year, we are required to declare to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia.

Q3: What information do you need from me if I want to get a tax-exemption receipt for donation?

Individual donors/Corporate organizations are required to provide complete information of the following details below in order to obtain an official tax exemption receipt.

For individual donors:

  • Full Name (as per NRIC/Passport)
  • Identity Card No./Passport No.
  • Complete mailing address

For corporate organizations:

  • Full business name as it appears on company registration
  • Full company registration number as it appears on company registration
  • Complete company mailing address

According to the guidelines for Approval of Director General of Inland Revenue under sub-section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967, we are unable to issue tax exemption receipts to donors who do not provide the complete information. Hence, we would appreciate all donors to complete the donation form below upon making the donation.

Q4: Can I change the details in my receipt?

Please email ycf@ut.com.my with the correct information within 2 days after making a donation should you wish to change the details, as we would be able to make these amendments prior to receipts being issued. However, we regret to inform that we are unable to process the changes after the receipts has been issued as this would generate a duplicate data in the system.
